Celtic wasted a chance to return to the summit of the Scottish Premier League yesterday after being held to a 1-1 draw at Motherwell.

Gordon Strachan's side needed a win to reclaim top spot from Rangers but Paul Quinn cancelled out Australia striker Scott McDonald's opener to keep the Hoops level with their Glasgow rivals on 57 points but with an inferior goal difference.

The Parkhead outfit have let the title race momentum transfer to Rangers after a disappointing run of only four wins in their last 10 league matches.

First Division: Airdrie vs Clyde 1-0.
