Escaped Tunisians re-arrested
Six Tunisian migrants who escaped from Safi detention camp last Friday were apprehended last night.
Informed sources said the six were found in the 'tent village' at Hal Far and re-arrested by officers of the Detention Service and the police.
The six Tunisians were reported at the nearby AFM barracks by other residents. The AFM backed the detention service personnel in their operation.

John Micallef do you think that our forces acted without the authorisation of our politicians? If you really think so then you are living in dreamland. Sorry

Out of the 262 arrivals on 1 February, 35 Egyptians have been repatriated, with publicity to serve as a deterrent. That's good. 6 Tunisians who escaped have been caught. That's good too. But in the meantime the Tunisians have been causing disturbances. And 227 are still in Malta. When will they be repatriated?

Is it too much if we Maltese citizens ask the authorities to lock these people up pending their repatriation.

well done to the forces, big thumbs down to our politicians who seem reluctant to take a very tough stance on this issue.
