Seedorf fires Milan past Cagliari

Injury-hit Milan kept their slender Serie A title hopes alive today when a second-half Clarence Seedorf goal secured a 1-0 home win over in-form Cagliari.

The Dutchman sidefooted into an empty net in the 65th minute after Cagliari defender Diego Lopez collided with keeper Federico Marchetti while trying to head back the ball.

Third-placed Milan remain 11 points behind leaders Inter, who warmed up for Tuesday's Champions League clash against Manchester United with a 2-1 win at Bologna yesterday.

Fiorentina came from behind at home to beat Chievo Verona 2-1 to move back up to fourth place with an Alberto Gilardino header and Adrian Mutu's stoppage-time winner.
