Verona Half Marathon

Żurrieq Wolves veteran Alfred Debono added another title to his vast array of honours when crossing the line first in the Over-60 category in the recently-held Verona Half Marathon.

Debono is the holder of the best timing for a Maltese veteran in the marathon, a feat achieved last autumn in Florence. He is now the veterans' record holder in the half marathon distance as well following his impressive 1:25.25 in Verona.

Two other Żurrieq Wolves runners also did the Verona Half Marathon, Doreen Vella (1:24.47) and Pawlu Camilleri (1:24.48). Club team-mate Alfred Briffa ran the full marathon and covered the 42km distance in 3:48.38.
