Steve Camilleri hit a nap hand of goals on Wednesday as his team Rari Nantes Bogliasco returned to winning ways after a series of negative results in the Italian top division league.

Last Saturday, Rari Nantes went down 11-10 to RN Sori, the team which preceded Malta when winning the Comen Cup played at the National Pool, Tal-Qroqq, last October.

Despite Bogliasco's 9-7 victory in midweek over SNC Civitavecchia, Camilleri's team lies third from bottom and likely to be involved in subsequent play-offs to preserve their status in Serie A1.

The Maltese player was once more an inspirational figure in open and set play, including man-ups, with his powerful shooting being a feature of the match. He still leads his team's goalscorers' list on 25 goals, one ahead of the USA international Jeff Powers and two more than Arnaldo Deserti.

The protagonists are Pro Recco who defeated the team currently coached by Sergio Afric, SP Energia Catania, 12-8 to maintain a clean slate after 17 matches.
