I refer to Mark Sammut's letter, Painting Exhibition Kept "Secret" (February 18).
I would like to point out to Mr Sammut that, notwithstanding the fact that the Auberge d'Italie no longer houses the Culture Ministry, use of the premises is still being granted free of charge to artists for the purpose of holding exhibitions and this on an ongoing basis.
The onus of responsibility for all publicity, PR and promotion relevant to the exhibitions held at the Auberge, however, lies squarely with the artists themselves and/or the exhibitions' organisers.
The football memorabilia exhibition that the correspondent refers to was an in-house initiative, organised and promoted by the Malta Tourism Authority.
