Milan's Nesta to undergo further back surgery

Injury-plagued Milan defender Alessandro Nesta will undergo another back operation today to try to save his career.

The former Italy international, 32, has not played this season having managed 29 league games last term and just 14 the season before with continuing niggles.

"AC Milan announces that Alessandro Nesta will go under the knife tomorrow morning," the Serie A club said.

Milan had hoped a rehabilitation stint in the United States had cured his back problems but he broke down again last week.

David Beckham, who limped out of Sunday's 2-1 defeat by Inter with a calf injury, has been named in the squad for tomorrow's UEFA Cup last 32 first leg at Werder Bremen but Kaka is again out with a foot problem.
