Melita announces new TV channels
Melita has added Eurosportnews and Caccia e Pesca to its portfolio of digital TV channels.
It said that Eurosportnews is now available at no additional cost to all Melita digital television subscribers. The channel is a 24/7 source for the latest sports news from around the globe.
The second addition, Caccia e Pesca, replaces the former Chasse et Peche on Melita’s XL television package. The channel is available exclusively on Melita and offers nature lovers stunning documentaries and reportages on the beauty of Italy’s rural area as well as hunting and fishing.

These are not new channels. Eurosports news was part of the sports package that we are made to pay through our noses to watch. Are we going to get a refund now that there is even less to watch on the eight sports channels that are either repeats or on stand by most of the time? The hunting channel is just an Italian version of the old french channel that we have had for a long time. So can Melita make a press conference and explain either why they keep ripping is of or how they intend to refund us.

As usual, simply a lot of hot air.

Funnily enough Melita did not make any reference to the other channel change from NASA ( a North American Sport station broadcasting from the UK) to another ESPN channel of which we now have three or four. As with the Wine Channel, it seems that either Melita Cable was downlegging the satellite feed without permission and have been told to desist from continuing to do so or, hopefully so for their reputation, were tryng to negotiate a better deal. Obviously, a better deal for Melita but not neccessarily for its subscribers.

The most ridiculous of melita is that the free to air channel of our neighbours Sicily, (Antenna Sicilia) is not given to us who pays for the package Me 4 Television Large (Active). This channel produce a lot of interesting documentries about world wide nature, traditional sicilian feasts and Sicily itself. We Maltese people have a close tide with our neighbours and its extremely ridiculous, especially for those who have Sicilian relatives.

Just another joke from Melita.
What about the channels we football lovers lost like the MUTV and Chelsea TV.
Just another spin by Melta to take its customers for a ride.

I thought that hunting was only done in Malta,so may I ask why is it all that fuss about hunting ,so the FKNK was and is right after all, maybe because our island is small and everyone use us just like a football, poor Malta.

Will melita refund us since we cannot view Wine TV... this has been off air with a stupid note that they have loss of signal for weeks now...... Will someone from melita reply and tell us what is happening... as usual they want more money but no service given what so ever.

It would have been better if they spent some money on updateing some off the programs instead off repeats all the time on bbc prime/ granada sick off watching weakest link 3rd and 4th time around in the last few weeks

Great! Now Malta's hunters and trappers can enjoy watching on TV their neighbours in Italy exercising their favourite sport, while they seethe and curse our local heroes, George Pullicino and Co.

Another two channels that few will watch and surely free to air. When will Melita let us subscribers choose what channels we want to watch. There are no flexible packages with either supplier, lots of TV channels true, but who watches them all? And to make matters worse, for a single or a few channels one has to opt for the more expensive package.
Not fair!

Melita usually launch channels with a lot of pomp but little substance. Caccia e Pesca is just what we already had but now in Italian instead of French. Eurosportnews is just a consolidation of three other sports channels which we already have. What subscribers want to know about is, the fate of the very popular WINE TV channel which has been off for quite a while now. A very laconic note tells us that they are experiencing loss of signal. What most viewers are worried about is that we are not told if the difficulty is technical or pecuniary.

Nature lovers do not watch Caccia e Pesca.

Great! Perhaps hunters and trappers will stay indoors to watch their new channel instead of going out to kill birds.
