Utter waste of electricity

On Sunday, as I was out for a walk, at about noon, near St Theresa Secondary School at Mrieħel, I could not help but notice that the internal lights of the whole school were switched on. In this time of economising, this is a blatant waste of energy.

On Sunday, as I was out for a walk, at about noon, near St Theresa Secondary School at Mrieħel, I could not help but notice that the internal lights of the whole school were switched on. In this time of economising, this is a blatant waste of energy. Lighting is only needed at night (for security purposes) and time switches could be installed at a very low cost and set to turn on the lights at night only.

I do hope that someone takes action and, if need be, checks all other schools to see if this practice is taking place when the schools are not in use.
