A group of 35 Egyptian migrants who arrived in Malta on February 1 were repatriated this afternoon.

The Egyptians were flown to Cairo on a chartered Air Malta plane escorted by 71 policemen in line with aviation rules.

The migrants had been in a group of 262 who arrived on a boat at Marsaxlokk.

Another six migrants left for Ghana today under the DAR voluntary repatriation scheme. Another 31 migrants left under this scheme over the past week.
