Marriages

Dr TREVOR De GIORGIO, BA, LL.D. and Ms ADELA CACHIA, B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc.
The marriage took place on Sunday, December 21, at St Mary's parish church, Attard, between TREVOR, son of Ing. and Mrs Oliver De Giorgio, and ADELA, daughter of Dr and Mrs Tonio Cachia. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Rev. Dr Konrad Grech, SJ, Fr Alessandro Vella, O.Carm. and Rev. Dr Joe Galea Curmi. Dr Matthew Cachia, the bride's brother, and Mrs Daphne Hammer, the groom's sister, witnessed the ceremony. Dr Paul Gonzi carried out the duties of best man. Ms Christelle D'Amato was the bride's maid of honour and Ms Clarissa De Giorgio and Ms Rowena Grech assisted as bridesmaids. A reception was later held at Villa Arrigo, Naxxar.

Obituary

GAUCI. On February 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, VICTOR, aged 83, of Cospicua, residing in Marsascala, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Helen née Cassar, his sisters Maria, widow of Michael Ellul, and Bice and her husband John, his sister in-law May, widow of Anthony Agius Gilbert, his brother in-law Vincent Cassar and his wife Eunice, and Edwina, widow of Emmanuel Cassar, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.15 p.m. for St Anne's parish church, Marsasacala, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest.

GONZI. On February 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, NELLIE, of Cospicua, aged 92, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Salvu and his wife Katy residing in Canada, Austin and his wife Joyce, Ernest and his wife Anna residing in Canada, Elvire, widow of Rene Abela residing with her, and Rita, widow of her son Charlie residing in Canada, her grandchildren Emmy, John, Helen, Isabelle and Cedric, her sister Lucy, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday at 8.30 a.m. for Tarxien parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by internment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Villa Mgr Gonzi will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

VELLA. On February 14, at Zammit Clapp Hospital, MARY, née Camilleri, of Paola, aged 88, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Emanuel, her children Ġużi and his wife Mary, Miriam and her husband Tony Rodo, Michael and his wife Lina, Carmen and her husband Tony Buttigieg, Anna and her husband Ray Azzopardi, Ġemma and her husband Brian Miller, and Albert and his wife Sandra, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother and sisters, in-laws, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Zammit Clapp Hospital tomorrow at 2.30 p.m. for Tal-Erwieħ church, Tarxien where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m., followed by interment at the church's cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Zammit Clapp Hospital for their dedication and care.

ZAHRA. On February 13, Josephine, née Cardona, aged 65, of Attard, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her devoted husband Carlo, her beloved son Alfio and his wife Rosette, her grandchildren Ian, Amy, Neil and May, her brothers and sisters, her in-laws and their respective spouses and families, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for St Mary parish church, Attard, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by internment at Mosta cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.
