Updated: GWU's dispute with Enemalta resolved
(Adds Enemalta's reaction)
A dispute between the General Workers’ Union and Enemalta which had resulted in the suspension of two workers obeying a union's directive, has been solved through the intervention of the direction of employment and industrial relations.
The dispute followed the transfer of the two workers without a reason, the union said.
The GWU said this morning Enemalta withdrew the suspension and the GWU its directive to the workers.
The agreement reached this morning provides for all Credit Control Section workers, included the two who were suspended, to go to work elsewhere by the end of February with the opportunity to work for a new company which has yet to be set up.
All section workers, including the two who had been suspended, would continue forming part of the section.
Enemalta said in a statement that the dispute had no grounds because the two workers had only been asked to move office and were to continue forming part of the Credit Control Section under the same supervision.
The management said that as long as it followed the law and acted in line with the collective agreement, it was duty bound to manage the corporation in the best interests of its clients.

Looks like no more credit control.
Does this mean that everyone has paid up and no-longer owe Enemalta money?
