timesofmalta.com and Sedqa are today presenting you with the mocktail Coco Jumbo.

For this mocktail you will need:

Ingredients: Coconut syrup, pineapple juice, blue Curacao syrup

Method: Pour 2.5cl Coconut syrup into an iced filled shaker. Add 7.5cl pineapple juice. Shake, and strain into a flute type of glass. Add a dash of blue curacao syrup, gently to sink into the bottom of the glass. Add straw and stirrer.

Garnish: Kumquat.

This mocktail is part of the Pay it Forward Mocktails project which is coordinated by Agenzija Sedqa's Prevention Services. The aim is to promote non-alcoholic drinks to the general public, particularly young people.

This project revolves around a number of Mocktail Training Courses that are delivered to young people. Mocktails are alcohol-free mixed drinks considered as a healthier alternative. These courses provide tips on how to make and present mocktails in an attractive manner include hands-on experiences. Courses are delivered by Mr. Richard Pons, a qualified lecturer, and are also supported by the Institute of Tourism Studies. These courses are linked with the Pay it Forward Movement, which aspires to bring positive change in the world around us, as well as providing opportunities to do so.

Agenzija sedqa believes that young people should be the protagonists in transmitting healthier lifestyle messages. This project encourages young people who attend these courses, to promote mocktails within the communities they come from. Through the empowerment and active participation of young people, the message of a healthier lifestyle that Sedqa conveys arrives much clearer and in a way that young people understand. This benefits not only the younger generations but also society in general.
