Four migrants who escaped from Safi detention centre with another 11 yesterday morning were still on the run last night.

Army sources said 15 migrants ran away from the centre in the early hours.

However, 11 were caught soon after.

AFM and detention centre officers mounted a search in the area and even around the airport perimeter but none of the four escapees was spotted.

The sources said the escaped migrants were thought to be Indian, Tunisian, Egyptian and Moroccan, who had learnt that they would be deported because they do not qualify for any protection.
