Kamis de l'Eveche first in Premier class race

The Premier class race was the main event on yesterday's all-trotting card at the Marsa racetrack. There were nine races, all on the 2,640-metre distance.

Rodney Gatt was the meeting's best driver with two wins.

Kamis de l'Eveche, driven by Salvu Vella, grabbed the lead early in the Premier class race and never relinquished that position.

It went on to cross the finishing line first notwithstanding the final efforts of Bello Fratello and Staro Tonic, second and third in respectively.

The Gold race developed into an interesting tussle along the final straight, involving four trotters. At the post, however, it was Gatt's Espace Aerien that clinched victory. Lawrence Crown, Kaolin De Bannes and Kandy Du Friutier had to be content with second, third and fourth places respectively.

A strong dash along the last 100m of the Silver class race was enough for Gigo Lloyd (Charles Camilleri).

The other Silver event was won by Syllabub (Rodney Gatt) after initiating its final attack some 300m from the post. This was Syllabub's second victory in its last three outings at Marsa.

The third and final Silver class race went to Kilian, yesterday driven by its owner Toni Tanti.

Kilian jumped into the lead just before the entrance to the final straight before cruising past the post to victory.

The next meeting is scheduled for Sunday at 1.30 p.m.
