Venetian-themed fundraising ball

The fifth edition of the Gran Ballo la Valletta will be held on February 22 in aid of Dar Niki Cassar, YMCA's homeless shelter in Valletta.

The first part will take place at the Grand Palazzo, at the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise, Republic Street, Valletta, where a grand banquet will be served to musical accompaniment and animation.

Guests will then be led through Strait Street, teeming with street theatre, where kannoli and mqaret will be served.

The second part of the evening is a grand ball at the Manoel Theatre, together with Venetian dancers.

This year, the Gran Ballo introduces an enchanting Casanova, live music, dance, and an interactive chorus, with a strong cast of over 40 actors, Commedia dell'Arte animators and musicians.

The dress code is strictly 18th century period costume, or black suit with mask. Tickets cost €50, and can be obtained by calling 2122 1435 or 9949 9618. Early booking is recommended.
