Abba show for April 4

Maltese audiences will soon be experiencing the closest thing to Swedish supergroup Abba, when Abba - The Show is staged on April 4. The hit-packed show will be held at the MFCC in Ta' Qali. Details about the event will be released over the coming week.

Abba - The Show follows the band's story from their Eurovision beginnings all the way to major chart success in a show that packs their greatest hits in a two-hour musical extravaganza. It is performed by Sweden's Waterloo, a renowned group who bring Abba to life, together with the National Symphony Orchestra of London conducted by Matthew Freeman.

Abba - The Show has had phenomenal success around the world, reaching audiences in India, Spain and the US, climaxing with a sold-out performance at the Hollywood Bowl.

The show kicks off at the tail end of the 1960s when Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha and Frida meet to play together for the very first time.

Throughout the course of the production, the audience is led on a journey through the rise of Abba. The show features classic songs such as Waterloo, Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen and Knowing Me Knowing You.

Abba sold over two million records per year, and the musical and film Mamma Mia reached record audiences in 2008.
