Emanuel Pace, 42, of Birkirkara, this morning pleaded not guilty of holding a nine-year-old boy against his will and threatening to kill him.

He also denied threatening to use violence against his mother and carrying a weapon without a police licence and relapsing.

The court granted him bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000.
