San Anton School librarian Noel Tanti was recently awarded the title of School Librarian of the Year by the Malta School Library Service. This is an initiative organised by the association to recognise the sterling work done in school libraries to promote literacy and to foster a love of reading among students.

'Mr Noel', as he is affectionately known among students, regularly organises book-related activities in the library to stimulate the reading skills of the school's student population of 900.

He also frequently invites local and foreign authors, book illustrators, and publishers to visit the premises, and organises fundraising activities to ensure that the library remains updated.
