The feast of St Anthony the Abbot was celebrated in Xagħra.

Horses were blessed at St Anthony's square in the morning by archpriest Carmelo Refalo.

A concelebarated Mass led by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech was held in the afternoon followed by a procession with the statue of the saint which was accompanied by the Xagħra Scout Group.

On arrival at the village square Bishop Grech blessed the animals.
