Revenge attack for porn film with underage girl

A man who was let off with a fine for taking part in a pornographic film with an underage girl had his car wrecked in a revenge attack by her father and brother.

The 61-year-old father and his son, 34, admitted to damaging the car after the man, together with an accomplice, had pleaded guilty to making the film in 2006 with a girl who was under age at the time.

The man originally received a three-year conditional discharge after admitting to filming the girl and selling the footage.

However, the Attorney General appealed the "light punishment" and the Court of Criminal Appeal turned it into a fine of €932. His accomplice was also fined.

But the girl's relatives were still unhappy and sought revenge, Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna heard. The father and son damaged the man's car and also admitted to threatening and assaulting him and breaching the peace.

The magistrate gave them a stern warning, telling them to leave the man alone. He conditionally discharged them for a year, placed them under probation and ordered them not approach the victim against a personal guarantee of €1,000.

Police Inspector Robert Vella prosecuted.

Lawyers José Herrera and Veronique Dalli appeared for the father and son.
