Convincing win for Fleur-de-Lys

The match from the men's national league between Fleur-de-Lys Westen and Southend last month lasted over two-and-a-half hours. However, Saturday's re-match was a big let-down for the Southenders.

They failed to live up to expectations, as Fleur-de-Lys were in a class of their own to win 3-0.

The first set lasted only 23 minutes, with Westen closing it at 25-12.

Southend put in all their efforts in the next set but after leading for most of the time, they surrendered at 26-24. The third set was a mere formality, with Southend sporadically showing signs of life but never troubling their opponents who were definitely the superior team on the day. The third set ended 25-20.

This convincing win for Fleur-de-Lys comes only one week after their disappointing showing against Valletta Mapei.
