Does Malta have any traffic managers and/or planners? If so, they are definitely conspicuous by their absence at the traffic junction in Msida, just by the Labour Party club, which by anyone's standards must be classed as one of the busiest on the island.

I have written on this subject before, but apart from the occasional, extra policeman on duty - and who sometimes has the brains to stop the traffic wanting to travel up Rue D'Argens and into Sliema, from crossing four lanes of cars coming from Birkirkara or Regional Road - nothing else has been done.

I will reiterate that the Transport Authority should extend the centre strip railing of the inner lane next to the roundabout, at least as far as the zebra crossing, so that only cars coming from Pieta and wanting to go to Valletta and points south can make use of it.

Any other traffic wanting to go to Gżira or Sliema should make use of the traffic lights.

Let's not wait for a serious accident to happen before some sort of traffic management is brought into force.
