Welcome decision for voting athletes
The Nationalist Party is calling on the government to amend the Electoral Law so that people who declare that they will be abroad on June 6 - when the EP and local council elections will be held - would be allowed to vote on the Saturday before.
This is a very welcome decision which recognises the important contribution that the Maltese athletes are giving to our country. Thumbs up to PN secretary general Paul Borg Olivier. One hopes that the government will now amend the law to make this possible. Hopefully, the Labour Party too agrees with this decision.
I'm sure that this stand is warmly welcomed by the Maltese athletes and Malta Olympic Committee.

It seems that Gonzipn doesn't know what's being said or done by the LP - the LP are being totally ignored by Gonzipn. The LP had already aired it's views about this issue. This reminds me when a few days ago, while doing a public speech, Dr Gonzi remarked that the LP had not yet given its views about the rent law, something which the LP had already done, and in fact Dr Gonzi was immediately corrected, if I'm not mistaken, by Minister John Dalli.
Wake up!

Leonard, Of course the PL agrees with this. PL has expressed this stance more than a week before the Nationalist Party decided to say something about it. In fact, PN commented on it after both PL and AD showed their views. It is obvious that the PN can amend the electoral Law because they are in office..pure and simple.
I get the impression that this letter was totally not about the athletes getting their right to vote and so on. This letter was sheer propaganda.

Dear Leonard,
The PL has already expressed himself about this issue WEEKS before the PN did! But all this is a circus! The PN (who is in government), called the government (who is the PN) to do something! This is realy a circus!
If you want to do something, JUST DO IT! You don't tell / command yourself to do something.
