The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, London recently held its annual High Scorers concerts and prize day event at St Aloysius' College Sixth Form assembly hall.

The Board's local representative Maria Conrad organised this event with the co-operation of Maltese and Gozitan music teachers and students.

Two High Scorers concerts were held for candidates who excelled in music examinations and performances and for new diploma holders.

A special certificate marking the occasion was presented to all the performers, while prizes were awarded to candidates with the highest distinction marks.

Set up in England in 1889, the Associated Board is a charitable company that conducts more than 650,000 music exams each year in over 90 countries. Over the years, it has provided a number of scholarships for Maltese candidates of outstanding musical promise to enable them to study in Britain. It has also run various professional development courses for teachers in Malta.
