President in Poland

The President and Mrs Fenech Adami left for Warsaw this morning on an official visit.

They are visiting Poland at the invitation of Polish President Lech Kaczynski and Mrs. Kaczynska. Foreign Minister Tonio Borg will join Dr Fenech Adami in Warsaw early tomorrow morning. A business delegation is also accompanying the President.

Besides Mr Kaczynski, Dr Fenech Adami will also be meeting Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Sejm Speaker Marek Jurek and Senate Speaker Bogdan Borusewics.

On Tuesday, he will meet Cardinal Stansilaw Dziwisz, who for 40 years was the private secretary to the late Pope John Paul II.

The President and Mrs Fenech Adami are also invited to the 64th anniversary liberation memorial at the Auschwitz Concentration Camp.

They return to Malta on Tuesday evening.
