Hibs vs Marsaxlokk (today at 2 p.m., National Stadium).
Leaders Hibs will be wary of the challenge Marsaxlokk may offer today as the latter desperately need the three points to increase their lead over their fellow relegation strugglers.

Their spirits high after back-to-back wins, Hibs will have Bulgarian midfielder Rumen Galabov back in the fray after serving suspension.

Chris Camilleri, formerly of Msida, could make his Marsaxlokk debut today after signing an 18-month deal with the former Malta champions. Midfielder Claude Mattocks can't face the Paolites after receiving a one-match ban.

First round - Hibs vs Marsaxlokk 3-2.

Floriana vs Qormi (tomorrow at 1.30 p.m., Tedesco Stadium).
Floriana will be keen to halt a negative run of two defeats on the trot but they will be without four midfielders. Pablo Doffo, Orosco Anonam and Marlon Briffa are ruled out by suspension and Mauro Brincat is still injured.

This week, Floriana received the all-clear from the MFA to release out-of-favour Aleksandar Madzar. The Greens will not sign Brazilian forward Rodrigo Felix but another South American striker, Paulo Da Silva, is expected to join them.

Qormi have signed Clifton Ciantar on loan from Sliema. Striker Josivan Da Silva returns from suspension but midfielder Keith Fenech is banned.

First round - Qormi vs Floriana 0-0.

Hamrun vs Tarxien (tomorrow at 3.30 p.m., Tedesco Stadium).
Perhaps it is early to describe this match as a relegation six-pointer but its importance is massive for both teams.

Tarxien coach Noel Coleiro is expected to give a debut to Brazilian defender Everson Alan Da Lima, a replacement for Ivan Carapic. Tarxien were also expected to complete the signing of a Brazilian midfielder, Denni Rocha Dos Santos, yesterday after they terminated the contract of Argentine Rodrigo Cariaga.

Hamrun received a boost in midweek when midfielder Ryan Fenech agreed to extend his contract by another year.

For this match, coach Steve D'Amato is still unsure whether Rupert Mangion will be fit as the midfielder has been suffering from flu.

Manolito Micallef is making good progress in his recovery from an ankle problem and could be in the squad.

First round - Hamrun vs Tarxien Rainbows 1-1.
