Five die in Belgian creche knife attack

Three children and two adults died today in a knife attack at a creche in western Belgium, Belgian media reported.

The attack occurred in Dendermonde, west of the capital Brussels, they said.

The Belgian crisis centre said there had been an attack in Dendermonde but could not confirm the reported deaths.

"We can only confirm that it's (the attack) happening, we can't confirm the deaths or give any other details," said an official at the crisis centre.
