The League of Al Fateh Births 1969, a Libyan international organisation with headquarters in Geneve, Switzerland, has set up a branch in Malta. Other branches have already been set up in Bellarus, Egypt and Tunisia.
Founded by Libyan Leader Col. Mu’Ammar El Gaddafi himself in April last year, the league enlists persons who were born on September 1, 1969, the date of the Great First of September Revolution in Libya and which is known in Libya as Al Fateh – the opening, the start of development and progress.
The Al Fateh Births 1969 League has the aim of militating against war and promulgating peace among nations, through activities organised by the members. These activities concentrate on helping out those in need and those hit by anti-social actions. The principles of the league are based on the teachings of the third International theory as put down in the Green Book written by Col. Gaddafi himself.
The setting up of the Maltese branch was presided by the league's chief executive Zotter Bettamer and the Libyan Charge D’Affaires in Malta, Salem S. E. Al Sthewi.
