A 22-year-old Filipino who is resident in Malta was attacked with pepper spray after he refused to hand money to a hooded person who held him up yesterday morning.

The police said that the incident took place in it-Tiben Street, Swieqi.

Following the intervention of neighbours, the aggressor fled the place with the stolen money, which did not amount to more than €300.

The Filipino is suffering from slight injuries.
