The Nationalist Party has set up a focus group to advise it on climate change matters. It is chaired by environmentalist Alan Deidun, a member of Nature Trust, and includes environmentalists, students, and persons from the private and social sector.
The party said the group will analyse developments related to climate change in Malta and abroad and propose measures which may be taken. One of its first tasks will be to study the recently-published government-commissioned climate change report.
The members of the group are Mark Anthony Falzon, head of the Department of Sociology and University lecturer, lawyer Robert Tufigno, architect David Felice, Pippo Psaila, managing director, Edible Oil Company Ltd, Andrew Azzopardi, lecturer in the Department of Youth Studies, Lara Tonna, Chief Commissioner of the Malta Girl Guides, Ryan Callus, an engineer with a speciality in management, lawyer Marthese Portelli, and students Mariella Rapa and Yolande Spiteri. Ms Spiteri is also rapporteur .
