Call to extend airport transport services
The Labour spokesman for tourism, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca is urging the government to promote new transport services to and from the airport.
Welcoming the new unscheduled bus service at the airport, Ms Coleiro Preca said it should be extended to all tourist areas, such as Gozo.
She said the government should be prepared to participate directly in such initiatives, particularly in this time of crisis.
Ms Coleiro Preca welcomed the increased services by low-cost airlines and said the government should provide all the necessary support to enable Air Malta to maintain and extend its market.

Until last week I would have agreed with Ms Coleiro Preca. The transfer services from the airport were either expensive, unreliable or non existent. I live in Gozo and regularly travel to the UK so getting to and from the Airport is important to me. Last week I had the good fortune to try a new service - maltatransfer.com. I was able to book online with no trouble, and on arrival in Malta followed the clearly marked signs to the pick up point. My driver was waiting in a modern, very well maintained vehicle and took me to the ferry. The service was professional and efficient and best of all only €10 euros!!! I will use this service again next time I travel and I urge others to try it. Well done Maltatransfer.com.
