Search for snorkeler called off
AFM divers during their search in Ghajn Tuffieha
The AFM has called off the search for missing snorkeler Herbert Mercieca, 34, missing for a week in Ghajn Tuffieha.
The search was conducted over the past few days by AFM divers and helicopters. Members of the Civil Protection Department performed a search along the shore.
Mr Mercieca's discarded diving float and his harpoon were found soon after the search was launched.

I would like to thank everyone who have participated in the search for my Nephew(Herbert) at ghajn Tuffieha and I would like to thank also all the volunteers that they are taking part in this search.We are all devastated by this bad news,We are all praying and hoping that god will lift him up so he will give his parents and his brother Jesmond&Pauline and his family ,and all his relatives and friends a closure to our hearts and give him the best service that he deserve.Not knowing where he is it's a torture for all of us.Thank you all people who's searching for him.Herbert been always loved and always will be forever,We never forget this tragedy as long as we live.God hear our prayers.God bless u all.

It's so sad to see the beautiful and serene seas around the Maltese Islands claiming so many lives, and so very often, lately.
