Siena have opened talks with Roma over a loan deal for Stefano Chuka Okaka, the 19-year-old striker who spent last season with Modena.

Bologna wanted to sign Okaka for good last summer but Luciano Spalletti was against the move even though Okaka became surplus to requirements with Julio Baptista showing tremendous form for Roma.

Siena are likely to lose Emanuele Calaio this month and in Okaka they see the perfect replacement.

"We are in talks with Roma for Okaka," Siena sporting director Manuel Gerolin said.

"He is a player who we have been tracking for a while and we have asked Roma whether we could sign him during this transfer window."

Manucho on loan at Hull City

Manchester United striker Manucho will continue the rest of the season on loan at Hull City.

The Angolan has made one appearance for United in the league so far. Hull have not yet secured a work permit for the 25-year-old but hope all documents will be in place for today's match against Arsenal.

Hull boss Phil Brown is optimistic Manucho will be a useful addition to his squad.

He said: "The lad is a proven goalscorer at certain levels, though not yet at Premier League level.

"He is 6ft 3in, great stature, he has a good eye for goal and is certainly good in high balls."

City not living in real world - Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Manchester City are not living in the real world following media reports the club has offered more than 100 million pounds for Milan forward Kaka.

"I don't feel in connection (with the Manchester City bid) at all because we live in a football club which lives in the real world," Wenger said.

"The implications (of the transfer fee) would be a disturbance on the market. Inflationary trend in a deflationary world," the Frenchman added.

"We are in a world where we live from three kinds of income - gate receipts, the sponsors and the television money... that is the real world of football."

No offer for Benzema says agent

Despite constant rumours surrounding Lyon star Karim Benzema, agent Karim Djaziri insisted that he has yet to be contacted by anyone interested in signing the striker.

Last week, Benzema told reporters his future in Ligue 1 could depend on Lyon's success in the Champions League.

The likes of Barcelona, Manchester United and Inter have all been linked with the 21-year-old in the past as Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas values Benzema at around 100 million euros.

Djaziri said: "I haven't spoken to any club. Not Inter, not Barcelona, not Manchester United. You'd have to ask Aulas about the offers he may or may not have had."

Benitez rejects new contract

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez (picture) has rejected a new contract, according to a report in the Liverpool Echo newspaper. The club has refused to comment on the story.

The newspaper quotes Benitez as saying that he will only agree to a new deal if he is given more control over football matters rather than having to answer to a chief executive.

"The owners feel that the manager's decisions need to be subject to the chief executive," he told the Echo.

"But I know I am subject to the results and to our fans and they are the best judges I will ever have."

Benitez took over as Liverpool manager in June 2004.

Lotito says Lazio not signing Boyd

Lazio supremo Claudio Lotito said Rangers striker Kris Boyd, 25, will not be joining the Serie A club this month.

Lazio have been linked with a move for Boyd, with general manager Igli Tare saying: "It's true. Boyd is a very effective player and we are well aware of his situation in Glasgow."

Lotito, however, said he has never heard about the Rangers forward, scorer of 20 goals in his last 22 games.

Lotito said: "Who is Kris Boyd? This is the first time I have heard this name. Nothing will happen with him."

Boyd looked set to join Birmingham last week after Rangers agreed a £3 million-plus fee but the move broke down over personal terms.

Spurs now eyeing Inter's Crespo

Troubled Tottenham Hotspur, who failed to conclude transfer talks for striker Adriano, have now turned their sights on the Brazilian's team-mate at Inter, Hernan Crespo.

On Tuesday, Spurs manager Harry Redknapp was at the San Siro for Inter's match against Genoa in the last 16 of the Italian Cup.

Inter are unwilling to let Adriano leave, even on loan. So, Redknapp may turn to Argentine international Crespo, who lost his place in the team this season. Crespo's contract expires in the summer.

Crespo has experience of English football having previously been employed by Chelsea and the prospect of playing in the UEFA Cup for Tottenham could convince the 33-year-old player to make a return to English football this month.
