Ince, Keane bring number of managerial casualties to nine
Sam Allardyce replaced Paul Ince as manager of Blackburn Rovers last month.
Blackburn Rovers' dismissal of Paul Ince and Roy Keane's resignation as Sunderland boss last month brought the total of managerial casualties in the English Premier League to nine since the end of last season.
The nine to go and their respective replacements are:
Blackburn - Sam Allardyce for Paul Ince.
Sunderland - Ricky Sbragia for Roy Keane.
Portsmouth - Tony Adams for Harry Redknapp.
Tottenham - Harry Redknapp for Juande Ramos.
Newcastle - Joe Kinnear for Kevin Keegan.
West Ham - Gianfranco Zola for Alan Curbishley.
Chelsea - Luiz Felipe Scolari for Avram Grant.
Blackburn - Paul Ince for Mark Hughes.
Manchester City - Mark Hughes for Sven-Goran Eriksson.

• Burnley knock out Arsenal 2-0 at Turf Moor and Stoke City go down at home to Derby 1-0 in the last eight of the League Cup.
• In the UEFA Cup group matches, Manchester City (home to Paris St Germain 0-0) and Aston Villa (home to MSK Zilina 1-2) advance to the knock-out phase of the competition, but Portsmouth bow out (away vs Wolfsburg 2-3).

• In a survey for the Barclays 2008 Global Fan Report, Alex Ferguson is voted as the current and all-time favourite manager. Fernando Torres claims 38 per cent of the votes, followed by Steven Gerrard and Cristiano Ronaldo as the most popular players for the current season.
• Gary Megson, of Bolton, and Nicolas Anelka, of Chelsea, are named Manager and Player of the Month, respectively.
• Bobby Charlton, member of the England World Cup winning side of 1966, is honoured with the 2008 BBC Lifetime Achievement award in sport.
• Blyth Spartans, of the non-League, eliminate Bournemouth 1-0 in an FA Cup second round replay.
