Luyindula linked with WBA move

West Brom are interested in taking on board striker Peguy Luyindula this month. The 29-year-old Paris SG striker is one of a number of January targets for the Premier League's bottom club.

"I think Luyindula is a player who's been mentioned with a few different clubs," manager Tony Mowbray said.

"I think it's probably coming more from Paris who are looking to maybe move him on, but he's a player we've talked about and looked at."

The former Strasbourg, Lyon and Marseille striker has scored more than 100 goals in Ligue 1, enjoyed a brief spell with Levante, in the Primera Liga, and has won four caps for his country, scoring once.

Man. United to play in Indonesia

Next summer, Manchester United will visit Indonesia for the first time as part of their four-match Asia tour.

Although the English champions have played in the continent several times before, they have never been to Indonesia.

The match in Jakarta against the Indonesia Super League Select will be played on July 24 and will be the third stop of a four-leg trip that begins in China on July 18 and heads to Seoul before the long flight south.

United will conclude their tour against a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur on July 26.

Mourinho relishing Roma cup tie

Inter struggled to eliminate Genoa in the last 16 of the Italian cup on Tuesday but Jose Mourinho is now looking forward to meeting Roma in the quarter-finals.

Inter were 1-1 at the end of normal time but goals from Esteban Cambiasso and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in extra-time handed Inter a 3-1 win and the right to face Roma.

"I'm a happy man because we have reached the quarter-finals and we have an intriguing contest against Roma," Mourinho said.

"It will be a great spectacle and everyone will enjoy watching it. I enjoy playing against Roma because they play fantastic football. I hope we get a bigger crowd than we did for Genoa though.

"Roma are the holders but we have already beaten them in the Super Cup."

Bojinov still in Man. City's plans

Bulgarian forward Valeri Bojinov will not be allowed to leave as part of a deal involving the transfer of Craig Bellamy or Scott Parker from West Ham, manager Mark Hughes said.

Man. City have already had two offers for Bellamy rejected and now Bojinov is claiming West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola has been in touch with him personally.

Bojinov said: "Two days ago, Zola called me and told me that he wants me at West Ham.

"But I feel great at City and don't want to leave. The only thing I want is to be healthy again, so that I can prove myself."

Bojinov has been out of the side since he ruptured his Achilles in the warm-up for the opening game of the season at Villa Park.

Drogba was in Marseille range

Olympique Marseille Chairman Robert Louis-Dreyfus told sports daily L'Equipe he was in search of a first-class striker and Chelsea Didier Drogba was his first target.

"I rang (Chelsea Chief Executive Peter Kenyon) to sound him out on Drogba. They don't want to release him at all," he said.

Drogba played with Marseille during the 2003-2004 season before joining Chelsea. The Ligue 1 club have now decided to sign Brandao as their attacking recruit in the January transfer window.

Louis-Dreyfus also revealed that Atletico Madrid forward Sergio Aguero and Adriano, of Inter, were targets of his but admitted the high-profile pair were also out of Marseille's range.

Werder deny Juve's Diego talks

Bundesliga club Werder Bremen denied reports in the Italian media that Juventus are ready to negotiate a deal for midfielder Diego.

Juventus have long been linked with the Brazilian international and according to Tuttosport this week, Juve sporting director Alessio Secco is ready to travel to Bremen to start transfer negotiations.

"That information isn't accurate," Werder sporting director Klaus Allofs insisted.

"We don't have any meetings scheduled. Over the next few months we will have to deny lots of these rumours."

Diego is under contract with Werder Bremen until 2010, but he has publically admitted his wish to play for Juve in future.

Gill explains role at English FA

David Gill defended his position following a verbal attack by Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez who questioned the Manchester United chief executive's role within the English FA earlier this week.

Gill said there is no conflict of interest at all.

"With respect to Benitez's comments on my position they are totally inaccurate," Gill said.

"The reality of it is that on the FA board sit three representatives of the Premier League. They are elected every year by every club and when we are on the board we are there representing the Premier League and I am not there representing Manchester United."

Benitez also criticised Alex Ferguson last week, claiming the United manager has been allowed to go unpunished when criticising referees.
