Shooter Borg breaks new ground

Another chapter in the local sport history was written at the end of an air-rifle shooting competition in Bidnija on Sunday. Annabel Borg became the first Maltese woman to win the Olympic air-rifle event. After persisting for many years with her training, she finally reached her objective with a personal best score of 626 to secure first place ahead of Charlo Chircop and William Smith. In the Air Pistol event, there was no beating Ray Cacciattolo. He finished way ahead of Martin Grech and Daniel Grech.
