Ireland to seek extradition of rape suspect from Malta

The Irish police are to seek the extradition from Malta of an Irish man who allegedly raped his mother on Mother's Day, The Herald has reported.

The 44-year-old is also thought to have been involved in other serious assaults on elderly women in Dublin.

His mother, who is in her late 60s, has not been able to live on her own since March, when she suffered the attack.

@ Johann Mifsud

note that what your are saying has nothing to do with the EU but with the schengen agreement. Also ireland is not part of this agreement and therefore his passport should have been checked.

For your info re schengen go to

His picture should be posted on small billboards round the island if there is a chance that he could be in Malta and is highly dangerous!!!

What are we waiting for? Send him on the first plane to Dublin and let him face the Law.

It seems that your last holiday was long time ago Mr. G Bugeja, because nowadays all EU members are not checked on departure and arrival. So no one will no that you went out of any country within the EU.

Bail?

For a person like such?

The Law is an ass and is run by a bunch of donkeys...at least in Eire.

What is this man doing in Malta surly when he presented his passport at airport arrival the barcode would have shown all information of his history that he has been in prison , maybe we should check everybody that comes in like they do in australia.

' He has a previous conviction for a sexual assault in Britain and garda sources say that he is one of the most heinous and unstable criminals they have come across.'

'The man was arrested a short time after the incident but fled while on bail. '

Why was this man let on bail if he is 'one of the most heinous and unstable criminals' What were the irish police thinking and why wasnt he stopped at the airport in ireland?
