One-day training camp at St Aloysius

A good number of young players recently attended a one-day training camp, organised by pbctabletennis Coaching Centre in conjunction with the St Aloysius Centre.

The training camp was led by qualified coach Peter Borg Cardona.

The programme started with a two-hour morning session followed by lunch and a one-hour table tennis DVD show.

The afternoon session kicked off with more quality training. To enhance the programme, the Newgy Robot was utilised, enabling players to improve their strokes and footwork. This proved very successful.

The highlight of the day was the competition.

In the youths singles, Mark Ebejer confirmed to be the strongest. The final was an all-out attacking spectacle between James Camilleri and Ebejer. On the day, the latter exceeded all expectations, winning in style 3-0.

The youths plate final was contested by Edward Borg Costanzi and Luca Spiteri.

In this match, Borg Costanzi's forehand attacks proved too much for his 11-year-old opponent. Borg Costanzi cruised to a 3-1 victory.

Bronze medals were awarded to Julian Sultana, James Zammit, Ryan Galea and Reuben Sciberras.
