Video: Explosion in Qawra garage

No one is believed to have been injured in an explosion in a garage in Qawra Road, Qawra.

The explosion took place at about 10.30 a.m. A blaze was being extinguished by the firefighters of the Civil Protection Department.

The cause of the explosion is not known.

Peter Murray seems to have been on site to verify the cause of the explosion. Kindly do not jump to conclusions Mr Murray. Nowhere, I repeat nowhere has it been reported that this explosion was caused by the illegal manufacturing of fireworks.

The main thing is that no one was injured-thank God.However,unless we want another Naxxar tragedy on our hands(how quickly we all forget) more stringent and robust measures must be implemented to uphold the law and ensure that so-called "GARAGES!" are only utilised for their intended purpose,i.e. the garaging of vehicles.As any other usage thereby makes the premises far removed from a garage's function or definition.Also much more punitive measures must be applied to those who break this law.
