Chris Paris has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Grand Harbour Regeneration Corporation plc, the Infrastructure Ministry announced this morning.

The GHRC is responsible for the execution of the government’s vision for the regeneration of sites around Grand Harbour and Marsamxett.

Mr Paris, who up to recently was general manager of Viset, holds a master's degree in construction management from Bath University UK. His experience in the construction industry dates back to the late seventies when he started his long career with Malt Consult International as project leader responsible for concept and project design development on various foreign projects.

Throughout his career he was involved on a number of locally sponsored projects which included the Excelsior Hotel, Capua Hospital, Victoria Hotel and the Freeport Project. During 1996 he formed part of the Viset negotiating team on the Cruise Terminal tender bid. Following the successful award of the project to Viset Malta plc in 2001 he was tasked by the company to act as the Manager Operations responsible for the project development implementation and the management of the cruising activities within the operations department.

In 2006 Chris Paris was appointed General Manager of the Valletta Waterfront project.
