Police are hunting for three armed robbers after a man was shot dead and another wounded during a raid on a post office in Worcestershire yesterday.
The offenders, wearing balaclavas and armed with a handgun and a sledgehammer, burst into the family-run shop in the Fairfield area of Bromsgrove at about 8:20 a.m.
One man was shot in the chest and died shortly afterwards. Police named him as 29-year-old Craig Anthony Hodson-Walker.
The shop and post office was run by a family and the dead man was the son of the postmaster, according to media reports. Another man was shot in the leg and is in hospital. Media reports said he was the postmaster, Mr Hodson-Walker's father. His condition is unknown.
"I would stress the offenders are clearly dangerous and must not be approached," Detective Superintendant Jon Groves, of West Mercia Constabulary, told reporters.
