Man shot dead during armed robbery

One man was shot dead and another suffered a gunshot wound to the leg during an armed robbery on a shop in Worcestershire today, British police said.

Police said three offenders, wearing balaclavas and armed with a handgun and a sledgehammer, burst into Fairfield Stores in the Fairfield area of Bromsgrove at about 8:20 a.m.

"Significant resources have been committed to his inquiry which is in its very early stages," said Detective Superintendant Jon Groves.

"The offenders are dangerous and must not be approached."

Police are appealing to anyone in the area or who saw the silver VW Golf the offenders were believed to have been travelling in. The car was later found abandoned nearby.

Just goes to show that the only people to benefit from the outright banning of guns in the UK (and other Countries that followed suit) has been criminals.
Removing the right for Law abiding Citizens to possess weapons for their Hobbies or even self defence, has left them easy prey for those who are adamant on bullying, stealing or torturing them into submission.
If I am not mistaken, there is more violence in countries, where the "State" has banned any sort of gun. Funny, that most of these countries are dictatorships, where violence on it's citizens is normally sponsored by that same state.
As L.Debono rightly mentions, it is the same people who pushed such laws into legalisation, who benifit from being protected with armed guards.

And they taught that banning guns was going to suppress crime. Were they ever wrong!!! Good to mention that the members of the House of Lords, even tough they were supportive of the ban, still have protection of the Security Services who are highly armed.
Isn’t that nice?
That was considered just and fair - - - NOT!!!!! So now in this lawless environment one can not even defend his / her own life.

When these tragedies happen one stops to wonder what effect the banning of handguns, from the law abiding citizens of the UK, had.
The 'mother of all democracies' nonetheless!
Sadly it seems that not a day passes without news of violent crimes involving firearms or knives over there.
