Funds for Gaza
The attention of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations has been drawn to the front page article that appeared on January 7, titled Maltese-Arab Woman On A Mission To Gaza.
The said article included a call for donations to a fund that Sanaa El-Nahhal has set up to donate food and medicine for the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The commissioner wishes to clarify the fact that the said call is in accordance with the law and should be made in the name of the Arabic Culture Information Society which is enrolled with the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations with registration number VO/0088.

We need to think less and read more.
-Being cut off from the rest of the world
-Being slowly killed through starvation and sickness due to lack of food, medicine and other supplies
-Being continuously stolen of your home land
-Having your home being destroyed by the occupier's bulldozers
-Being shot at because someone else from another country decided by what time you ought to be back home and you happen to be still out and about after that curfew
Have any of us ever lived under such situations? So how can we understand the reasoning behind their actions? Which party of Greek Gods do we pretend to belong to when we behave, talk and write as though we know it all?

I do not believe that the lack of food in Gaza is due to the Israeli blockade. If Hamas manages to smuggle into the territory thousands of large missiles and other weapons like RPGs together with tons of ammunition, they could, if they wanted to, smuggle food and medicines.

There is a great difference between what people think, believe or calculate and the reality.
People may think, believe or calculate that I am a billionaire, but I may be penny-less.

Foreign aid is needed due to Israel repeatedly destroying the Palestinians' infrastructure along with lives. If money meant so much to Arafat why did he live so frugally? Where were his sports cares and yachts? Do not turn away from all those dead and injured in Gaza and call yourselves good human beings and good Catholics. You are not.
Israel and the 'right to return' has to be the greatest PR job ever undertaken. FACT!

@Antoine Vella
Do you actually think the Commissioner for voluntary organisations will accept to accept donations for weapons? I think it's better see how things work before posting such comments
@Alex Ellul
No matter how much money Arafat left, if you have money but do not find basic things (food, medicine) there is nothing you can do with it.

"Sanaa El-Nahhal fethet wkoll kont banakarju mal-Bank of Valetta bin-numru 4001783940-2. Hija qaltilna li l-flus li se jigu depozitati f'dan il-kont se jintuzaw biex thallas l-ispejjez ghall-ippakjar u t-trasport ta' l-affarijiet. Hija qalet li inutli tiehu l-flus maghha biex taghtihom lin-nies ta' Gaza ghax bhalissa ma hemm xejn x'tixtri. " Orizzont 9 ta' Jannar

Mr. Arafat died with a billion dollars account: the following link
http://www.mafhoum.com/press6/171E19.htm
includes:
"Forbes calculates that Arafat, who comes in sixth behind Queen Elizabeth II, has a net worth of $US300billion. Some Israelis believe Arafat's personal wealth may be as much as $US11 billion, although in testimony to the Knesset last year Israel's chief of military intelligence Aharon Zeevi listed his personal assets at more than $US1.3 billion.

No, no! It's for UN ambulances and schools. You know so Israelis can use them for target practice.

Mr Antoine Vella
Donations like these generally go for their intended purpose, helping the unfortunate Palestinians.
Rockets and weapons Hamas gets for free from their masters, the holy men of Iran.

Food? Medicine? A fund to buy rockets and weapons they mean.
