MIA launches new coach service
In line with its commitment to improve the comprehensive service for its customers, Malta International Airport is commencing the New Year with the launching of a new service. As from Wednesday a coach transfer route will be operated regularly in conjunction with maltaTransfer.com Ltd. This alternative and new transport facility consists of a shared transportation system from the airport to the leading hotels and vice-versa.
Passenger bookings will be channelled mainly online and on a pre-booking basis through the maltatransfer.com site, airline and hotel websites as well as tourist information sites. For arrivals only, bookings may be made at the airport from an opposite counter which will be situated in the baggage reclaim hall, whereas for return tickets sold online three computer terminals are being installed also at the airport luggage reclaim area.
There will be no fixed or scheduled routes but a customised service will be operated in accordance to the current necessities of passengers. An MIA spokesperson has reported that a positive feedback was received from all major stakeholders on this new development namely the MTA, the MHRA, the ADT and Gozo Channel.
