VALLETTA 2

HIBERIANS - 0

Valletta leapfrogged Hibs and Birkirkara to go to the top of the Premier League this evening by beating the Paolites 2-0 at Ta' Qali.

The Citizens got an ideal start with a goal in the first five minutes by Gilbert Agius, Priso got the second just before the break.

Hibs were unable to find the net, and suffered the further frustration of seeing Terence Scerri sent off in the 60th minute. Edmond Agius saw red for Valletta in injury time.

Valletta now top the table by one point over Hibs and Birkirkara.

Birkirkara have played two matches more.

Today's match was briefly interrupted when the lights went out after 25 minutes, but power was restored in some three minutes.
