Directive 'being ignored'
The government could not be bothered with the directive on energy efficiency in construction, the Labour Party spokesman on the environment, Leo Brincat said yesterday.
He said legal notice 238 of 2006, which came into force in 2007, laid down that every development should be in line with "minimum energy efficiency standards".
Nevertheless, Mr Brincat said the government had failed to maintain its promise to introduce energy-efficient measures in the sector, increasing the chances of being penalised by the EU.

I would be concentrating all my energies in trying to fix this problem, otherwise the country wont be able to sustain it's population, but not the maltese government, they have there heads in the sand and will act when it's to late
