The artist H. Blackman
In answer to Carmel Aquilina's enquiry of December 15, I can offer some more limited information on this artist. My late husband bought a watercolour entitled The Milkman signed by H. Blackman and dated 1942. The scene reminded him of his boyhood when the goatherd in the painting is shown milking his nannygoat straight into a jug set on a doorstep. This was for sale in a South London bric-a-brac shop and the purchase was around 1969. So the only relevant extra fact is that H. Blackman was still active in 1942.

Thank you Ms Buttigieg for the information.. I too came across and bought this drawing abroad. Following my letter of December 15 I was contacted by a member of the Blackman family who informed me that some of H Blackman's works can be founbd in one of Hamrun's band clubs and in some churches.
