Under the guidance of coach Steve Mock, Farrugia is refining his shooting technique and improving his performances. He proved this yesterday at the MSSF's Bidnija ranges when managing 24 out of 25 hits in the first round and 23 in the second to head for the barrage finals with a score of 47/50.

In the barrage, Farrugia underlined his rich form with another impressive score of 24 to finish with a total of 71/75. Last year, Farrugia topped the overall skeet classification with a points percentage of 89.95.

Paul Vella was second yesterday with a total of 64 points, having hit 41 in the opening two rounds. Third place went to Joe Muscat on 63 points (40+23), three ahead of Elenio Mifsud (41+19) who was fourth.

The next event on the MSSF 2009 calendar is a trap competition, scheduled for the coming Sunday.
