Gozitan students work on sea project with Italian school

Ninu Cremona Lyceum students outside the Scuola Media Statale Luigi Luciani in Ascoli Piceno

A group of Gozitan students had the opportunity to visit their Italian peers to collaborate on a project focusing on ecologically-sustainable uses of the sea.

Eighteen students from the Ninu Cremona Lyceum Complex visited Ascoli Piceno as part of a Comenius project themed Our Seas. The project, which ends this year, focuses on the dynamic relationship between human beings and the sea, placing it in a historical perspective.

During the visit, the Gozitan students had the opportunity to work on the project with their Italian colleagues from Scuola Media Statale Luigi Luciani of Ascoli Piceno.

The students also studied the cultural and economic dimensions of the sea and its role in communication among peoples.

The project explores alternative uses of the sea that are ecologically sustainable and helps the students to become more aware of forming part of a wider European community. The next Comenius meeting is scheduled for February at Ninu Cremona Lyceum Complex.

Surely these are pupils not students. Universities sixth form and technical colleges has students. Schools have pupils.

Well done for this project. May we see more of them happening in Gozo.
